Testing Large Ground Systems
If you are testing large ground systems associated with substations or power plants you will need longer test leads than are included with the MFT5010.  Our Application Note AN0009 describes the ground test procedure and how to determine if you have sufficient spacing between the test electrodes.  The article also  includes the details for making a simple wire reel assembly using two spools of standard, low-cost, # 12 Gauge THHN wire.
